Although being a good method to use for wood protection it has presents some few challenges. It is a highly corrosive chemical that affects most metals that are used together with the wooden products. The species of the wood and the application of the wood will determine how many chemicals will be used on the wood. The concentration level of the chemical will be different for two pieces of wood where one is used above ground and the other close to a water body.

Another wood treating method that is fast being accepted is the use of copper metal. This method is being accepted fast because is friendly to wooden fasteners. Micronized copper wood preservative is the correct term to refer this type of preservation. A high-pressure liquid that has the copper metal mixed in it is driven into the wood. The difference between this method and the other copper-based methods is that the copper is used as a metal rather than a dissolved material. The characteristics of the wood are highly improved and the when this process is used to treat wood. The wood products protected using this method last longer.

Termites and fungal decay are just a few among the many problems wood treated from this method are protected against. It has also shown to be an improvement in corrosion resistant properties to metal fasteners. When you use this method to treat wood, then you will not need to worry for at least ten years.
