Low-Tech Husband with a High-Tech Wife

My wife was sitting on the couch. Not an odd sight to see, but how she was sitting was weird. The couch was on the other side of the room facing a wall that she had cleared of pictures and everything. She was holding up her hands like those movie directors do when they are framing a scene. She told me how a nice 72-inch ultra-high-definition TV would look great in that spot. She is the movie buff and sports fan. It is like role reversal here, but I knew that I’d be finding TV deals for Cyber Monday 2017 as soon as I got on my laptop.

Not only that, I would be also searching for a builder to put in a modern entertainment center. Nowadays people have those gas log fireplaces underneath their big screen TVs. This way you can cozy up to a movie or the fireplace fire. Both at the same time if you want. Us Americans are weird that way. We even have to multitask our relaxation. Me, I like to sit on the porch and watch the tree branches move in the breeze. I’m easy to entertain. The wife and kids need high-def, broadband, stereo, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and more. That’s okay, we all have our favorite ways to veg out with entertainment. Mine is just low-tech.

However, I do like a good action or sci-fi movie now and then. I am probably the only Luddite that likes Star Trek. Well, I’m not actually your typical Luddite. I do carry a smartphone, but I don’t stare at it constantly. No chance of me getting hit by a bus while walking and texting. But, on the other hand, when I do watch TV I do appreciate a big screen and sound that makes it feel like I am in a movie theater. So, I’m okay with the 72-inch UHD TV my wife wants.
